1. Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how GauchoReelRoom uses browser storage and how third-party resources may create technical requests when the website is used. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
The website provides controls for essential, preference, analytics and marketing categories. Essential storage supports core choices. Optional categories begin in the off position and can be changed through the Cookie Settings button in the footer.
The word “cookies” is often used broadly for several browser technologies. This policy distinguishes traditional cookies from local storage where that difference matters.
3. What Local Storage Is
Local storage is a browser feature that keeps small key-and-value records on the visitor’s device. Unlike a typical cookie, local storage is not automatically attached to every request sent to a web server.
JavaScript running on the same website can read a stored value to restore an interface choice. Values usually remain until they are changed or cleared.
Private browsing, browser privacy settings, storage limits and extensions can prevent or remove saved values. If storage is unavailable, the website should continue to provide its main content, although preferences may need to be selected again.
4. Essential Storage
Essential storage supports functions that are necessary for the chosen website experience. On GauchoReelRoom, this includes remembering the age confirmation and storing the visitor’s privacy preference selection.
Because these values enable the age gate and privacy controls to work consistently between pages, the essential category remains active in the settings panel.
- Age confirmation: remembers the 18-or-older selection.
- Privacy choice: records whether optional categories were accepted or rejected.
- Dialog operation: supports opening, closing and returning focus in an accessible way.
5. Age-Verification Storage
The age gate uses the key gauchoAgeConfirmed. The value records the visitor’s selection and prevents the dialog from appearing on every page after confirmation.
The value does not contain a name, birth date, identity document or verified age. A physical venue may apply its own age and identification process.
Clearing site data removes the saved choice and causes the age gate to appear again.
6. Saved Privacy Preferences
The key gauchoCookiePreferences stores the selected state of the preference, analytics and marketing categories. The essential category is recorded as active because it is required for the settings mechanism.
The saved object allows the website to restore the visitor’s choice on later pages and visits from the same browser profile. Using another browser, device or profile may require a separate choice.
The preference record should be updated whenever the visitor saves a new selection, accepts all categories or rejects optional categories.
7. Preference Category
The preference category may be used to remember non-essential interface selections, such as filters, display choices or other convenience settings.
It is disabled by default. The current website can be browsed without enabling this category.
If new preference features are introduced, they should be described here and should not be used for unrelated profiling.
8. Analytics Category
Analytics tools can help a website understand page use, device compatibility, navigation patterns and technical performance. GauchoReelRoom currently does not include a live analytics script.
The category is included in the settings interface so a future analytics tool can be controlled before it loads. Enabling the switch alone does not create meaningful tracking unless a tool has actually been configured.
Before a production analytics service is introduced, this policy should identify the provider, purpose, retention period, main data fields, opt-out method and any transfer safeguards.
9. Marketing Category
Marketing technologies may be used by some websites to measure campaigns, personalise advertising or recognise a browser across services. The GauchoReelRoom marketing category is disabled by default.
The current project does not include advertising pixels, remarketing tags or third-party behavioural advertising scripts.
Any future marketing technology should require a clear visitor choice and should be documented before activation.
10. Map Tile Requests
The interactive map uses Leaflet and OpenStreetMap-related tile services. Loading the map requires the browser to request image tiles for the visible area.
A tile provider may receive the IP address, browser information, timestamp, requested tile coordinates and standard request headers. These requests are necessary to display the third-party map and are governed by the provider’s terms and privacy practices.
Visitors can use the written location list instead of the interactive map if they prefer not to load map tiles.
11. External Directions and Linked Services
A directions button can open an external mapping service. That action leaves GauchoReelRoom and may allow the external service to use its own cookies, local storage, account information or location permissions.
The visitor should review the settings and privacy notice of the selected service. GauchoReelRoom cookie choices do not control storage created after the visitor moves to another website.
12. How Long Choices Remain
Local storage values do not have a built-in expiry date unless website code applies one. In the current implementation, choices remain until the visitor changes them, clears browser data or uses a browser mode that removes them automatically.
If a future version introduces expiry periods, the period and renewal behaviour should be described here.
Third-party services may apply their own durations to any storage they create under their policies.
13. Using the Cookie Settings Button
The footer contains a Cookie Settings button on every main and legal page. Selecting it opens the preferences dialog and returns keyboard focus to the previous control after the dialog closes.
- Open Cookie Settings from the footer.
- Review the Essential, Preferences, Analytics and Marketing categories.
- Select or clear the optional switches.
- Choose Save Preferences to apply the selection.
Accept All activates all available optional categories. Reject Optional keeps only essential storage active.
14. Browser Controls
Most browsers allow visitors to inspect and remove cookies or site data. Controls are commonly found under privacy, security, storage or site settings.
Removing GauchoReelRoom site data clears saved age and privacy choices. Blocking all storage may cause the age or cookie interface to appear repeatedly.
Browser instructions differ by product and version, so visitors should use the current help information supplied by the browser provider.
15. Changing or Withdrawing a Choice
A visitor can change optional categories at any time through the footer control. A new selection replaces the earlier local preference.
Withdrawing a choice prevents future optional use by the website configuration. It does not automatically delete information that a third-party provider lawfully processed before the change, although browser controls may be used to remove stored identifiers.
Where a separate provider offers its own opt-out mechanism, the visitor may need to use that mechanism as well.
16. Global Privacy and Do Not Track Signals
Browsers and extensions may send preference signals such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Legal requirements and industry support for these signals can vary.
GauchoReelRoom should evaluate recognised signals when relevant technologies are introduced. The current website’s optional categories remain off until the visitor makes a choice in the settings interface.
17. Policy Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated when browser storage, map providers, analytics, advertising technology or legal requirements change.
A revised policy should display a new date and describe material changes. New optional technology should not be activated merely because this policy has changed; the applicable preference should also be respected.
